Ingredients

Pantry

  • 1 cup Flour

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

  • 2 cups Oats

  • 1 tbs Pumpkin Spice

  • 1 bag Apples

  • 1 ⅓ cups Raisins

  • ½ cup Sugar

Fridge and Freezer

  • 1 cup Butter (or shortening)

Directions
  1. Wash hands with soap and water. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 large casserole dishes. Wash apples and slice thinly, discarding core.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, whole wheat flour, salt, baking soda, brown sugar, oats, and pumpkin spice.

  3. Cut in the butter (or shortening for dairy-free) using a pastry blender or two butter knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Spread half of the crumbs into the prepared dish and top with apples. Sprinkle it with the raisins and the sugar.

  5. Spread remaining crumb mixture over the top. Bake for 40-50 minutes.

  6. Cool and each dish into 12 bars. This recipe makes 12 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.

*Replace butter with shortening to make this recipe dairy-free.
