Ingredients
Pantry
1 tsp Chinese 5-Spice
1 tbs Sesame Seeds
2 tbs Soy Sauce
Fridge and Freezer
1 ball Pizza Dough
1 head Broccoli
1 lb Ground Turkey, thawed
1 bunch Green Onions
¼ cup Hoisin Sauce
1 Egg
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Set dough on the counter to come to room temperature. Heat the oven to 450 degrees. Grease a baking sheet and line with parchment paper. Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat with a fork.
Wash and dry produce. Cut broccoli into florets and discard the stems. Cut the root ends off the green onions and discard the wilted parts. Chop green onions, dividing the white parts and green parts into two small bowls.
Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey and the white parts of the onions and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned. Stir in the hoisin and 5-spice and heat through. Remove skillet from heat.
On a clean surface, cut the dough into 12 balls. Flatten each ball into 6-inch circles using a rolling pin or fingers. Divide the turkey into each circle and gather the edges of the dough, pinching to seal.
Arrange each bun on the baking sheet. Use a basting brush or a spoon to spread egg on each bun and sprinkle with half of the sesame seeds. Fill a baking dish with water and place on the lower rack of the oven. Place the baking sheet with the buns on the upper rack. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
Heat the broccoli according to microwave directions on the bag. Drizzle with soy sauce. Sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper. Serve buns with broccoli on the sides. One serving is 3 buns. This recipe makes 4 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
