¼ cup Butter
1 tube Refrigerated Biscuits
6 Eggs
1 8-oz bag Cheddar Cheese
¼ cup Cream
2 cups Milk
Pantry
4 servings Fruit Cups
¼ cup Flour
1 tbs All Purpose Spice Blend
Directions
Wash hands with soap and warm water. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13- inch casserole dish. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with the cream.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the sausage, then place the sausage in a bowl and set aside.
Return the pan to heat and melt ¼ cup butter over medium-high heat. Whisk in flour and spice blend and whisk for several minutes until it forms a paste. Slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk, whisking to keep the mixture smooth. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Add ½ cup of the cooked sausage to the gravy and stir to combine.
Cut the biscuits into quarters and scatter them in a single layer in the bottom of the greased casserole dish. Top the biscuits with browned sausage and half of the cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the cheese.
Bake uncovered for about 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is lightly browned and puffy and the eggs are set.
Serve topped with gravy, with fruit on the side. The recipe makes 6 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
