Ingredients
Pantry
2 tbs Flour
2 Tomatoes
Fridge and Freezer
1 cup Milk
½ cup Thousand Island Dressing
1 2-lb bag French Fries
1 lb Ground Beef, thawed
2 tbs Butter
1 8-oz bag Cheddar Cheese
1 cup Pickles
1 head Romaine Lettuce
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Wash, dry and chop the produce.
Preheat the oven and bake French fries according to package directions.
While the fries are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef, breaking apart and seasoning with salt and pepper, if desired, until done. Set aside.
Heat 2 tbs butter in the same pan over medium-high heat. Whisk into the flour to make a smooth paste. Slowly whisk in 1 cup milk, stirring constantly. Whisk and stir until the milk thickens, about 5 minutes. Turn the heat to low and stir in the cheese 1 handful at a time, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
When fries are done, drizzle with some of the cheese sauce. Top with the ground beef and more cheese sauce. Stick the sheet pan back in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes to warm through.
Remove the pan from the oven and top with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and ¼ cup of thousand island dressing. The recipe makes 8 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
