Easy Skillet Chili
This Easy Skillet Chili is a hearty, one-pan meal packed with savory ground beef, tender mushrooms, and kidney beans for a protein-rich dish. 1 Onion
1 packet Chili Seasoning
1 15-oz can Canned Tomatoes
2 15-oz cans Kidney Beans
1 10-oz can Tomato Soup
Fridge and Freezer
1 lb Ground Beef, thawed
1 8-oz container Mushrooms
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Peel and chop the onion.
Brown ground beef, mushrooms and onion until beef is cooked through. Reduce to medium-low heat (275 degrees F in an electric skillet) and cook for 5 minutes. Stir often. Drain grease from the pan into a heat-proof container, let cool, and discard.
Add seasoning to beef and stir. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Choose one of the following cooking methods:
SLOW-COOKER METHOD: Add all the ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-6 hours.
STOVETOP METHOD: Drain the can of beans. Add tomatoes, drained beans and tomato soup to the pot. Add 1 soup can of water; stir and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Divide into 4 portions, just under 2 cups each. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
*Chili seasoning may contain gluten. You can substitute 1 tbs chili powder, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp garlic powder.
