1 lb Penne Pasta
1 15-oz can Peas
Fridge and Freezer
8 oz Cream Cheese
8 oz diced Ham
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Cook pasta according to package directions. For the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the frozen peas to the pot. Then drain but retain ½ cup of the pasta water for the sauce.
Cut 4-oz of cream cheese into cubes and add to the pot along with a splash of the retained pasta water. Mix until the cheese has melted and you get the right consistency of sauce. Add more pasta water if necessary.
Add in the ham and season with salt and pepper and mix again. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve immediately, or chill and serve later. This recipe makes 6 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
