Hot Dogs and Macaroni Salad

Our Hot Dogs and Macaroni Salad is a classic cookout-style meal featuring grilled, boiled, or microwaved hot dogs served in soft buns with your favorite condiments alongside a creamy, flavorful macaroni salad. The salad combines tender pasta, crunchy celery, bell peppers, pickles, and a tangy mayonnaise-mustard dressing, making it even better after chilling.

Ingredients

Pantry

  • 1 lb Macaroni Pasta

  • 2 Bell Peppers

  • 8 Hotdog Buns

  • 1 tbs All Purpose Spice Blend

Fridge and Freezer

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup Dijon Mustard

  • ½ cup Mustard (optional)

  • ½ cup Catsup (optional)

  • ½ Red Onion

  • 1 cup Pickles

  • 4 stalks Celery

  • 8 Hot Dogs

Directions
  1. Wash hands with soap and water. Wash and dry the produce. Chop ½ of a red onion, reserving the rest, wrapped, in the fridge for later use.

  2. Bowl a large pot of water and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and spread onto a baking sheet. Place in the fridge to cool.

  3. Seed and chop the bell peppers. Chop the pickles, reserving ¼ cup pickle juice. Chop the celery. Add all to a medium bowl. Add the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, reserved pickle juice, and spice blend and stir to combine.

  4. Stir the cooled pasta into dressing and chill in the fridge, covered, for 1 hour or up to 5 days.

  5. Cook hotdogs using your desired method. Try boiling, microwave, or grill.

  6. Serve hotdogs in buns with desired condiments and macaroni salad on the side. This recipe makes 8 servings. You can prepare hotdogs for the number of people eating, and save the leftovers for later in the week. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
