Ingredients
Pantry
1 jar Pizza Sauce
1 tbs Italian Seasoning
Fridge and Freezer
1 lb Pizza Dough
1 lb Ground Turkey Italian Sausage, thawed
1 8-oz package Mushrooms
1 8-oz bag Mozzarella
½ cup Parmesan
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Allow the dough to warm up at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees. Grease a baking sheet.
Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sausage, breaking up with a spatula, until starting to brown. Add the mushrooms and cook until sausage is browned and mushrooms are softened.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a circle, about ¼” thick (if dough won’t roll out, allow it to warm up a little longer).
Divide sauce, ground sausage and mushroom mixture, and mozzarella between each circle of dough, leaving space around the edges.
Fold over the edges of each calzone and pinch to seal. Arrange on the baking sheet, evenly spaced. Brush each with a little oil and sprinkle with the parmesan and Italian seasoning.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and heated through. This recipe makes 4 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
