Ingredients
Pantry
½ cup French Fried Onions (optional)
⅓ cup Broth
1 tbs Honey
Fridge and Freezer
¼ cup BBQ Sauce
2 tbs Butter (optional)
2 Carrots
1 bag Green Beans
1 lb Sirloin Steaks, thawed
Directions
Wash hands with soap and water. Preheat the oven to broil. Grease a baking sheet. Wash and dry produce. Peel and slice the carrots. Trim the green beans.
Toss all veggies with a little oil and season with salt and pepper. Arrange on the baking tray and roast in the middle rack for about 10 minutes, until browned. Ovens vary, so watch veggies carefully to make sure they don’t burn. When veggies are done, drizzle with honey and toss to coat.
Meanwhile, heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper and brown in the pan on each side until steak reaches desired doneness (see note). Transfer steaks to a clean cutting board and cover with foil.
Return the skillet to heat and add the butter (or olive oil) and ⅓ cup of the broth. Stir in the BBQ sauce and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Allow to thicken slightly, then remove from heat.
Serve steaks with veggies, topped with sauce and French fried onions (if desired). This recipe makes 4 servings. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
